Linux Alpha - SX164 IRQ
Hardwareinterrupts do not work properly
- This can cause either your machine not to boot at all or strange hangs
during operation
- This problem is known for all kernels up to 2.1.125
- Machine may not boot, apply this diff and try again. This diff is
against 2.1.120 but also works for somewhat older and newer kernels
- Strange hangs during operation, much too long beeps, delayed response.
This has something to do with the new enahnced RTC driver not working
properly on SX164. If you experience strange hangs or another sympton
mentioned above try to disable RTC for your kernel.
- It seems that a little patch can avoid the RTC problem. I now can use
2.1.121, the applied patch and RTC support wihtout problems so far. The
patch is here (along with the mail that
was posted to the axp-mailinglist).
