Ongoing work on Sparc Linux!
Actual configuration
At the moment I have three Sparc's available:
- SparcStation 1, 16MB RAM, 120MB HD
- SparcStation 1+, 16MB RAM, 120MB HD
- Sparc LX Clone (Axil 220), 16MB RAM, 340MB and 320MB HD
complete SparcLinux on it!
The Axil runs RedHat's 4.0 distribution without bigger problems now. I have
SILO running and booting from the first harddisk, X11 with the builtin GX
graphics board on a 19" grayscale monitor.
The Sparc 1 has Linux installed on the small harddisk.
The Sparc 1+ has Linux installed too and runs like a charm too! Though it's not
the fastest but still faster than the even older Sparc 1 ;)
Audio driver is there
For those not reading the mailinglist, there is an audio driver on it's way!
Some great guys have taken this project and it is developing well! I have
the audio driver on the Axil220 working. Though there are still some
glitches here and there, the first noises came from the speaker and sound
like what was played ;) So hope is here! The recording capabailities are
still in heavy work (by now not usable) but also here work is in prgress.
